When We Race

We race the first Saturday of the month  April thru November (8 Club Race Days). Note:  If there is a DF65 Regatta within 2 hours of our pond, then we may change our race day to allow the whole club to attend that event. Of course, this is at our discretion.

The first race starts after the Race Director's meeting   There is a pizza place onsite that has incredible pizza, as well as other foods.

Note; Some special events may start at different times.

2025 Schedule (Eight Days of Fun!)

April 5th- Andy and Mike's Awesome Race Day!  (09:45-12:30) RD= Andy

Andy and Mike treat us all to an awesome day of racing, as we celebrate our first sailing event of the year! We start racing after our skipper's meeting at 9:45. We will race our DF65s eight races and should end by 1230. Pizza is always enjoyed afterwards at our on-site pizza place!

May 3rd- Kyle’s Krazy Race Day! (09:45-12:30) RD= Kyle

Kyle comes up with some great race courses for our enjoyment. Pizza is always enjoyed afterwards at our on-site pizza place!

June 7th- NMMYC Club Race Day #1 of 2 (09:45-12:30) RD= Rob

We will sail our DF65s with A Rigs eight races.  Points will be awarded in order of finish to go towards the Club Championship.  Racing for fun is strongly encouraged!

July 5th-DF65 A-Rig STATE CHAMPIONSHIP- NMMYC Club Championship Race Day #2 of 2 (09:45-12:30) RD=Bart

We will sail our DF65s with A Rigs eight races.  Points will be awarded in order of finish to go towards the Club Championship.  Long or short keels. Racing for fun is strongly encouraged!

August 2nd- Almost Any Boat Challenge! (09:45-12:30) RD= Bart

Sailors can use any RC Sailboat that is AMYA class legal that is EC12 length or less in size.

September 6th - Region 2 Championships! (09:00-3:30) RD= Steve W?

Our club will host the DF65 Region 2 Championship Regatta. See NOR on this site for more info.

October 4th - Capital Cup RD= Kyle

DF65s with an A Rig will compete as part of a team in the Capital Cup at our home lake.

November 1stnd- The 3rd Annual West Virginia Adventure Rides "Round the World Race". RD= Alan

(Skipper's Meeting is at 10:45, Pizza Party Starts at 12:00)

 Location: Is our lake.  Two races around the lake, divided by a pizza party, tests our sailors and their DF65's sailing ability, as they try to conquer a unique and fun adventure course!

December 6th- End of Year Party!
